I qualified as a barrister and joined the Crown Prosecution Service at its inception in 1986. I served the CPS for 27 years attaining the rank of Principal Crown Prosecutor before retiring in 2013.
I moved to Send shortly after and
as well as indulging in a love of local history (I am a member of the Send & Ripley History Society), I took on a number of voluntary roles which include serving on Send Parish Council and the Send Parish Council Planning Committee which I have chaired for the last two years. I work voluntarily for the Lower Mole Partnership where I am Director of its supporting Trust, carrying out countryside maintenance and conservation work in Surrey.
I have campaigned against the Local Plan since 2014 and as a member of the Planning Committee have spoken on planning issues affecting Send at Guildford Borough Council, and at Inspectors' Inquiries with some success.
If elected I would enjoy using the skills I have attained in my working life as well as those acquired at Council level, to represent my local community and to continue campaigning for a comprehensive review of the Local Plan and in particular, as regards its flawed assessment of likely population growth and thus housing need.
